January 17 2026 outside the Whipple Federal Building in Minneapolis. ICE agents entered and exited the federal facility as community members gathered nearby to protest. Tensions escalated when federal agents threatened to use chemical irritants and, at one point, deployed pepper balls and mace. Law enforcement eventually responded by blocking off the sidewalk, restricting access for those protesting.
