Jake Lang Receives a “Minnesota Nice” Welcome

Scenes from January 17, 2026 in Minneapolis. An anti-immigrant rally led by Jake Lang was significantly outnumbered by counter-protesters. Lang, a pardoned January 6 rioter and right-wing influencer, attempted to lead the event, but his remarks were quickly drowned out as counter-protesters played songs such as “Let It Go” from Frozen, sprayed silly string, and threw water balloons. Lang and his small group eventually fled the scene. Tension in Minneapolis has escalated over the past two weeks since Renee Good was shot by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent, Jonathan Ross on January 7, 2026.
